HostingAs promised in the course, I (Stephane) will offer hosting to those interested in starting out and not having to worry about it. After reviewing the details with my Hosting provider, I have to make some slight modifications on what I can offer in terms of hosting packages. There will be two seperate hosting packages to choose from both heavily discounted, for $10/month each as promised. A quick note, if you wish you can prepay a full year of hosting for $100/year which saves you $20 on hosting! Package 1
Both packages are virtually identical except that on the first one I will manually setup all the technical aspects for you. I had to do this as it's not really possible to automate this system to fully install WordPress as described in the seminar for the scale of people who are going to be using it. Therefore as I'm sure you can understand, I simply cannot manually install and setup hundreds of domains with WordPress for each of you. This is why I'm offering the two packages. Package 1 allows you to get started with absolutely no technical knowledge and any additional domains have a nominal setup fee (less than the cost of my time). Package 2 allows you to take full control and add them yourself manually but requires some technical knowledge. Please note that I will not support package 2 other than due to issues with the server (this does not include configuration, etc.), it's up to you to manage your own domains. For package 1, if you do any additional changes to the package without consent, that is that you add a new forum software, or you start playing with the settings and configurations, etc, then I will also no longer support it. You are then on the same technical level as me and Scotty where any modifications we do we are responsible for their effects within our hosting packages. I'm sure you can understand why, at these heavily discounted prices I'll be lucky just to break even. I'm offering this service because we promised we would and we'd like to see you succeed! I have just ordered a new reseller account to be setup just for this purpose, and it will take at least 2-3 days to fully resolve the nameservers (for all the internet computers to know that it exists) and have the server physically ready. So please bear with me as this happens. In the meantime please feel free to go ahead and buy your domain(s) in anticipation. Once it's up, I'll let you all know here. UPDATE: The server is completely setup and the nameservers are currently resolving. The nameservers should be resolved anytime within the next 48 hours (starting this morning because I first needed the server information to create them). It could happen any minute, but it should take no longer than 48 hours. UPDATE 2: The nameservers are now resolved!!! I'm ready to take orders. UPDATE 3: Due to some complications in getting people setup and the extra time needed, what I've decided to do is greatly simplify the hosting. You can find a more detailed explanation in the forums here. Basically it's now $5/mth per domain for 10Gb bandwidth/month and 100mb disk space (This is more than what Scotty's Layouts uses!!!). if you need a bigger package, I can combine them, so for $10/mth, I’ll give you 20gb and 200mb. You can purchase as many domains as you like for $5/month UPDATE 4: Please note that I'm no longer updating this page.
